Opt out of Periscope crawling

Add the robots.txt directive below and Periscope stops fetching your site: robots.txt is read on every scan and honoured for the whole domain. If you would rather have the block held on our side, use the contact route further down.

Periscope fetches your pages as PeriscopeBot

Standard requests carry the user agent below, so you can match them in your access logs. A scan fetches at most 60 URLs, waits between requests, and never automates a consumer AI app.

User agentstandard fetches
PeriscopeBot/1.0 (+url)

Blocking it in robots.txt stops every fetch

Put these two lines in the robots.txt at the root of your domain. The directive applies to every path, takes effect on the next scan, and needs nothing from us.

User-agent: PeriscopeBot
Disallow: /

A direct request is held on our side

No direct address is published for this deployment yet. The robots.txt directive above is honoured on every fetch and takes effect immediately, so a domain can be excluded without contacting us.
